C&A: number of manufacturing factories 2024, by country
German clothing retailer C&A sources its products from 24 different global suppliers. As of October 2024, China hosts the highest number of supplier factories for the retail giant, with a total of 145 supplier factories. Bangladesh and Turkey come in second and third place, with 115 and 79 factories respectively. In Germany, where the retailer is based, C&A only has one factory.
Revenue of C&A
Since 2011, C&A revenues have been consistently dropping in Germany. However, in recent years, figures have been on the rise, reaching 2.2 billion euros in 2022/23. Additionally, C&A ranked as one of the top five retailers in Europe in 2021 in terms of the number of stores it operates across Europe.
Sustainability and transparency of C&A
Of the world's major fast fashion brands, C&A measures as one of the more sustainable by some metrics. The company ranked second when it comes to the use of sustainable cotton. In terms of carbon dioxide emissions, C&A does not emit the lowest quantity of CO2, emitting five times as much as the Inditex Group responsible for the Zara brand, as well as Marks & Spencer and Asos.
